SDI Computer Nitrox
Open water divers are certified to dive using compressed air. Nitrox is a mixed gas replacing some of the nitrogen in that air with additional Oxygen. This can significantly increase your bottom time and reduce the likelihood of nitrogen narcosis or DCS. Nitrox is an excellent way to increase your diving time, especially for deeper repetitive dives in the tropics.

Who this course is for:
The certified diver looking for training to test and use Nitrox. This will increase your bottom time, safety or both.
Course prerequisites:

SDI Open Water Scuba Diver, SDI Junior Open Water Diver, or equivalent

Minimum age 18, 12 with parental consent
What’s in it for you?
Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may dive with Enriched Air Nitrox of up to 40%.
The SDI Computer Nitrox certification counts towards a single specialty rating to complete the SDI Advanced Diver Development program or SDI Master Scuba Diver Development program.
Most New England dives do not benefit significantly from Nitrox- it's shallow and cold here. However, a multiday trip on Nitrox can potentially have nearly twice as much diving as the same trip on air. In many ways, this is the logical choice for warm water diving and is an excellent upgrade to open water SCUBA.
Where:
Your Nitrox course will consist of e-learing and an in-person exercise at United Divers. Participants will learn to set their computer for Nitrox, determine the MOD of various Nitrox mixes, and test a Nitrox tank for its Oxygen percentage. There are no required ocean or pool dives for a Nitrox class.
When:
We offer Nitrox classes year round. Several are listed on our course schedule. However, it is possible to teach this class during normal operating hours as long as you've completed your self paced e-learning. If you need this skill in a hurry don't hesitate to call us.
How Much:
The SDI Computer Nitrox course costs $175, all inclusive.
